Coral Lab

This exhibition places a spotlight on corals, the life they support, and groundbreaking research by Smithsonian scientists. When the zoo closed its Invertebrate House, animal care specialists cared for many of its species behind the scenes until these animals found a new home in this lab. Visitors observe a colorful diversity of corals and the animals they shelter. They learn about the challenges corals face in the wild and take away actions to help protect corals and their ocean habitats.

As Exhibit Developer at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, I led the content development for this exhibition, which opened in June 2016.
