Jewels of Appalachia

This exhibition invites visitors to peer into the underground world of salamanders and learn why these tiny creatures are critical to the Appalachian ecosystem—home to more salamander species than any other region on the planet. Visitors watch scientists working in a research lab, learn what Smithsonian scientists are doing to save salamanders, and take away everyday actions that help salamander survival.

As Exhibit Developer at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, I led the content development for this exhibition, which opened in October 2015.
